Impact testing provides quick and reliable results
that relate to the structural properties of the medium
being tested.
The Geotechnics Impact Tester works the same as the
Clegg Impact Tester; the principle of a known mass
falling a known distance. The tester's reaction is
recorded on a digital readout on a scale of 0 – 100.
The units recorded are Impact Values. The Geotechnics Impact Values correlate
exactly to Clegg Impact Values or CIV. A material of high stiffness will produce
high Impact Values and so low stiffness material will produce low IV's.
